April 2023
The April 2023 welcome message from the AMWS Chairman,
Mr David Parmeter

Text of Chair’s welcome message:
Hello everyone, and welcome to this edition of the AMWS newsletter.
In this welcoming message I want to reach out to all AMWS members. One of the things we are working on at AMWS is to grow and diversify our membership base. Over the last two years we have welcomed a number of new members as well as our first Corporate Members. This membership growth is all part of a strategy of ensuring the ongoing relevance of AMWS into the future and therefore the continuing success of our important role in supporting seafarer welfare. Your membership is greatly appreciated and we encourage each of you to actively participate in our activities.
In that regard I want to make all AMWS members aware of the Annual General Meeting to be held on Tuesday 16 May 2023, starting at 12:30 pm. The venue is The Castlereagh Club, 199 Castlereagh Street Sydney. While the AGM is primarily a brief administrative process, there will be a function afterwards, and we have invited a number of industry stakeholders and friends of AMWS to attend. All members of AMWS who are able to attend in Sydney on that day are cordially invited to join us and stay for the function. If you are able to make it, please RSVP to our Secretary Stan Moriaty so we can confirm numbers with the venue.
If you are not currently a member there is a link in this newsletter that takes you to the membership application form.
I trust you will enjoy this edition of the newsletter.
